How do you translate centuries-old sketches into something that feels alive and relevant today? The goal was to bridge classical art and modern expression without losing the integrity of either. By connecting the timeless beauty of Michelangelo’s work with today’s visual language, we aimed to create a piece that resonates with both art lovers and a broader audience.
We reimagined Michelangelo’s studies of the male body as living art. Instead of directly copying his poses, we created abstract interpretations of them. Through close-ups, silhouettes and partial framing, the focus shifts from individual identity to form, tension, and movement.
The sketches form the visual core of the film – sometimes static, sometimes animated – blending smoothly with the live footage. The camera shifts between stillness and motion, echoing the balance between classical simplicity and modern expression.
The result is a poetic, non-linear piece that merges the old with the new. A quiet tribute to Michelangelo’s mastery, and an invitation to see the human body – and his work – from a fresh perspective.
