CHALLENGE

Bringing back the iconic Total 90 shirt meant more than referencing the past — it required finding the emotional link between then and now. Originally worn by Dutch legends like Ruud van Nistelrooy and Edgar Davids during EURO 2004, the shirt holds a special place in football history. The task was to honour that legacy in a way that feels current and authentic, showing that the pride and energy it once carried are still very much alive today.

APPROACH

We recreated a living room from 2004 – complete with a PS2, a shuffling iPod, and a buzzing Nokia – as the stage for a quiet trip down memory lane. It’s a space built from recognition, where every detail hints at a specific time and feeling.

In this world, the past and present casually collide. As we move through the room, the mood is calm and playful. The revamped Total 90 shirt appears not as a hero prop, but as part of the setting.

Slowly, we reveal Virgil van Dijk and Tijjani Reijnders, modern-day icons, gearing up in the kit. Without big gestures, the message is clear: this shirt still carries the same pride and presence it had twenty years ago.
