CHALLENGE
After years of passion, grit, and heart-on-sleeve performances, Edson Álvarez – Ajax’s beloved fan favorite – was set to leave the club. Ajax wanted to give him more than a farewell. The challenge was to honour his journey with a story that felt deeply personal, emotional, and true to who he is – both as a player and a person.
APPROACH
We created a raw, intimate mini-documentary that traces Edson’s path from Mexico to Amsterdam and back again – through the voices of his family and the roots that shaped him. More than a tribute, it’s a reflection of where he came from and what he gave to the club.
Shot with a documentary eye and emotional sensitivity, the film culminates in Edson watching the video for the first time. His reaction becomes part of the story – authentic, powerful, and moving.
The message builds to a powerful close: 4 Edson, 4 Mexico, 4 The Future – Ajax 4 the Future.
